Determining the accuracy and penetration of parabolic fire is done the same way as direct fire (a pair of green dice is rolled for accuracy and then a white die for penetration). Howitzers generally have lower penetration, but their penetration value is not reduced over distance (unlike guns).
In the Core rules, all 3 vertical protractors are used: [15°] for low range, [30°] for medium range and [45°] for high range.
Not every parabolic shot will hit the top armour, but front/side/rear instead. This gives more chance of surviving the hit for heavily armoured vehicles.
The final version of the rules will be published later.
NEW PIECES!

The end of the campaign is near so we decided to motivate our potential backers with additional content in form of new tank pieces!
The goal we set for this campaign was determined on the basis that we can produce small batches of all our games in our own workshop. That goal ($2000) was reached within the first 10 minutes of the campaign and we can say once again that we’re very grateful for the support our games receive. Now, lead by desire to make the game more attractive to potential backers, after an agreement with the manufacturer of the miniatures, we have decided to add 6 more pieces to the Premium set: Superheavy Tank (T95 and Maus), Heavy Self-propelled Howitzer (M12 GMC and Hummel) and Recovery Tank (M31 ARV and Bergetiger). The Standard and Light sets will be enriched with the same pieces, but there will be two Superheavy Tanks, two Heavy Howitzers, and one Recovery Tank on each side, so the addition is 10 pieces in total.
We’ve also decided to add content to the stretch goal set to $25000: apart from the 3 Trees, we’ll add 2 Trams to the game if the goal is reached. That way, we’re continuing with the practice of rewarding the backers for their support whenever possible. Thanks to the success of the previous campaigns, we’ve acquired more machines for our workshop so the additions we’ve offered won’t affect negatively the production deadline in any way.
We hope everyone is satisfied with the new additions to the sets.

It is already said that this game, and the whole Panzer Strike series, does not represent any particular historical battle, but simulates some possible tank battles in an urban environment. The games are interesting even when playing without any specific mission, where the goal of the game is to destroy as many enemy tanks. In this case, the game can be stopped at any moment and the winner can be determined by counting the destroyed or active tanks.
Initial positions of tank formations can be different in every battle. Each player chooses the pieces to play with, and all that matters is that their total value is equal for both players. Barricades (optional) can be placed anywhere on the board by agreement between players, or each player can place a few near their initial positions.
Since players can choose themselves what types and numbers of tanks to use, with the ability to vary positions of barricades and initial positions – this game gives inexhaustible variations even when not using scenarios. Some of the variants for initial positions are already given in the rules:
_
1.NORTHWEST / SOUTHEAST – Total value: 32 points (each player)
- Initial positions (zones edged by the following squares):
In order to make the game even more interesting, there will be a dozen of scenarios in a brochure. Some of them will have fixed initial positions and tasks, and some will be more flexible. There will be symmetrical scenarios (similar tasks for both players) and asymmetrical ones.
We remind you that this game will have its expansions (which will also be standalone games). The first expansion will reveal a part of the town continuing to the north from the existing map. It will have an industrial zone, railway station, terminals for loading/unloading cargo (and newly arrived tanks) ... In the second expansion, the map will continue to the south which will contain a river, a dam, bridges, suburbs, etc. When all three boards are combined, one large battlefield is created which has enormous possibilities for various scenarios. We believe that this series of games will gain popularity over time and that gamers from around the world will get involved in creating rich and diverse scenario book.
Some of scenarios which were created for a mini batch of this game in 2015 are presented below (the board used to have fewer squares, but the buildings were positioned similarly).
Therefore, these scenarios will not be in the brochure in this form (the English text will be proofread, of course), but they can serve as an example.
Add-ons - part 1

At the beginning of the campaign, we have announced some of the add-ons which will be available on Backerkit (after the campaign). Now we want to announce an expanded list of add-ons. We'll separate them in three groups:
A) Related to this game
B) Related to Tank Chess
C) Our other games
-
In this update, we'll present only the first group:
- Print and Play files - $ 5
- STL files of miniatures - $ 20
- STL files of miniatures (difference pack) - $ 10 - for backers who already have files for miniatures from Tank Chess - these are just the ones not included in the old pack.
- Set of 3D buildings - $ 12 - this addition is mainly intended for backers of Light version (or as a spare set);
- Set of 3D destroyed buildings - $ 8 - we'll present these by the end of the campaign in a separate update. They can be a part of a scenario, or placed by choice instead of the whole buildings.
- Set of 2D destroyed buildings - $ 2 - intended for Light edition;
- Additional tank pieces pack (60 pcs) - $ 12 - the combat can be more interesting if you have more tanks at disposal, which is especially important for the initial choice of tanks for a battle (more diverse setups are possible);
- Additional miniatures pack (60 pcs) - $ 70 - additional miniatures for additional pleasure and large battles.
At the suggestion of some backers we are introducing new add-ons:
The board can represent any European town (although it primarily represents a French town judging by the names displayed on the buildings). We believe that many backers would want to use tanks from other battlefields and other periods. Since we wish to create a whole series of Panzer Strike games, we will certainly make models of almost all armoured vehicles used during the WW2. Considering the planned delivery for October 2019 (Premium version) - we have enough time to make a few more different sets of miniatures. One set will consist of ~30 miniatures and every set will have a price of $35. The sets that would cover all the periods and countries that participated in European part of WW2 would be the following:
- French tanks (Renault NC-1, Hotchkiss H 39, Somua S35, Char B1 bis, Char 2C; Somua MCG, Panhard 178)
- German tanks - early (Pz II, Pz III, Pz 38, Pz IV D, StuG III A, Bison; SdKfz 251 ...)
- German tanks - mid (Tiger, Elefant, Pz IV G, StuG III G, Marder III, Luchs, Wespe, Hummel ...)
- German tanks - late (only late vehicles - supplement to the basic set) (Tiger II, Jagdtiger, Panther, Jagdpanther, JgPz IV, Hetzer ...)
- Italy (L6/40, M13/40, P26/40, Semovente da 75/18, Semovente da 90/53, ...)
- UK - early (Tetrarch, Matilda II, Churchill I, Crusader, Centaur, M3 Grant, DAC ...)
- UK - late (Cromwell, Challenger, Archer, Achilles, Churchill VII ...)
- USA - early (M3 Stuart, M3 Lee, M4 Sherman, M10 Wolverine, M7 Priest, M12 ...)
- USA - late (Chaffee, M4A3E8, M4A3E2, M18 Hellcat, M36 Jackson, M41 HMC, M8 Greyhound ...)
*the exact vehicles are subject to change in the final production
Our current time frame permits us to make 4 to 5 sets, and we would like to hear your opinion and suggestions. Based on your interest, we'll form a final list with the chosen vehicles.
Your suggestions on the types of vehicles to include in any particular set would be appreciated. We have already accepted some suggestions (to adjust the numbers of German tanks in the set - by Barry Kendall).
As a final reminder, if you are planning to purchase some add-ons, by increasing funds on your Kickstarter pledge you will help reaching more stretch goals! Extra pledge will be automatically credited in the pledge manager (Backerkit).
